Career Change

Whenever you change jobs, there are a few issues you must consider. One of the first is the issue of health insurance. If you are between jobs and do not have coverage, consider purchasing a temporary major medical plan until you are able to secure coverage through your new employer. If a plan is not available, an individual health plan will need to be purchased. Since many auto policies are rated on the distance you drive to and from work, let your agent know when you change jobs and how this will impact your driving. You may find it will save you a little bit. If your new job has you working from home, you’ll need to discuss this with your agent. Not all homeowner policies provide coverage for home-based businesses. Often an endorsement can be added to your policy to adequately protect you.
