Family

Auto
  • As children grow up, you’re likely to spend a lot of time in your car as you take them to various activities.  Always remember that you are setting an example of how to drive to your children.  The proper use of seat belts and child restraint devices is critical.  You want your children to grow up to be safe drivers as well.  Once they do reach driving age, be sure you train them carefully.  Remember the discounts like good student and drivers education, as these will help offset the higher rate you are likely to pay while they are on your policy.
Home
  • As your family grows, most like so do your assets.  It’s important to make sure your homeowners policy keeps up to properly protect you.  You may also want to consider adding a personal umbrella policy to provide additional liability protection.  You should routinely sit down with your agent and review your coverage needs to make sure you are adequately providing the protection you need.
Life & Health
  • Health insurance is critical for your growing family.  Children often have medical needs that can get expensive if you don’t have coverage.  Most frequently employer sponsored plans will be available, however if that’s not the case for you, there are major medical plans that can be purchased.  Life insurance is more critical now that you have children.  You want to provide for your family should something happen to you, so you must review what the needs are financially.
